  • Volvo 940 Retrofit Bosch AL E46

hi guys, i live in Indonesia and im quite new here hehe

this is my 2nd retro (the first one is with the FXR, i quite like the fxr, but its too intense on the side for me, its a little distracting)

well i guess you all can see the result

    parts:
Bosch AL bix e46 clear lens
    mitsubishi ballast gen 6
    osram 66040 bulb
    custom DRL

this is the only output pic at this time, i havent got time too take some output pic, sorry for the poor quality, i used my phone
    lol

the e46 has a more soft output than the fxr, it feels like its dimmer but actually its not

i prefer the E46 bix than FXR, the e46 has more intense light under the cutoff and a dimmer foreground, so i can see further

Looks very good. You have combinated old boxy style swedish vehicle and modern light tecnology very well. One thing I don't like is that DRL thing. I would keep the original fog light there. Actualy I hate those led stripes no matter what whicle and how new. But it's just me. =)

guys here's an update, some output shot

oh and one more thing, there is something wrong with my output, you can see for yourself here

driver side (i'm in RHD country)

                pass side

what do you guys think? is it the bulb, or is it the lens?

my bulbs are osram 66040 using clear ZKW-R

Good job. E46 projectors are really good and one of the best for long distance light output and have a big and super bright hot spot and uniform light output.

                    Sorry for the bump.

Where does one get the clear lenses?

And again; sorry for the bump, but I'm wondering the same thing. Haven't managed to make clear lenses myself yet. Do the sell clear lenses for volvo 940 anywhere?
