nice job. I think if it were me I would have left the housing chrome so it looks a bit more OEM. IMO black only looks good on dark (black) colored cars.

The 2009 models started coming out with black housings, so it does look oem
I bough some black rims recently, and im going to cover that silver trim around the windshield soon, so im going with a black/red theme.

Here are some more autox pics

11 year update... the bowls started flaking off in my passenger projector. First i thought it was the ballast but when i got a new one it looked the same, started looking inside the projector and saw shiny pieces hanging down the bowl.
I started with 35w ballasts but switched to 55w ones 7 years ago... guess it took 7 years to bake the bowls.
Now i need some new projectors... fx-r 3.0? What's good nowadays?

Well if the easiest route is to replace 1:1 why not go with fxr again? Other than that the new Morimoto line up seems to be good.

Does anyone still sell the original fx-r's? I wouldn't mind trying something a bit better.

Thanks for the update! 7 years is pretty good for those at 55 watts. Anything you can get these days will be an improvement. Anything from the G5 line is good. The latest Morimoto projectors are fine too. I've gone on to LED projectors myself. M-LED 2.0. The NHK are also solid. These days, the aftermarket has come so far, you can't really go wrong with anything.

I decided to go with the mled 2.0, here's the current fx-r with the burnt bowl at the top.
