    I think I'm in love.

(Note that while the beam is properly aimed with a 2" drop at 25', the two side wall shots were taken when I was on a slight bump to make the beam parallel to the ground.)

    Thanks TRS!

Probably the first person to be happy about the MD2S but congrats nonetheless it actually looks good with the CBIs!

The high end bulbs in a low performing projector, I believe that is what he is hinting at anyway

After taking scientific measurements, I determined the output to be precisely 1000% better than the halogen bulbs and reflectors my car originally came with.

In all seriousness, this setup gives me all the light I'll ever need. Does it give me 480 degrees of side illumination for objects I won't be looking at when focusing on the road ahead? Nope! Does it blast that part of the road with enough light to seem like Jesus is sitting on the hood of my car? Oh yeah. The goal was to improve stock illumination to something that didn't suck, and TRS delivered. I'm happy

I humbly offer a slogan mark for marketing the Mini D2S Kit: "Because anything is better than halogen."

Nice man. As long as you're happy. But it is a little like having a 600hp car and never driving above 55mph. Maybe some day you'll upgrade to projectors that will show the true potential of the CBI's.

Scottw, you and I will be defending the mini D2S for as long as we live

It is a great LITTLE projector, and it makes a halogen look like a 5mm LED. I can't fit anything other than a mini D2S in my car. I have to run D2H bulbs because D2S don't clear my frame. Yea, I love my D2S because they are way better than $10 sealed beam special.

The MD2S and MH1 are great projectors for what they were intended for. Are they the best? No. And they were never intended to be. But they do fill a very specific niche of amateur retrofitters and those that can't fit anything larger into their housings.

                      Exactly.

Looks great Scott, at least you know you're getting the best performance possible out of the projectors by using those bulbs. I too have the mini D2S 2.0 projectors and they do exactly what I need them to do, and are 100x better than my stock halogen lighting. I will be upgrading to the mini D2S 3.0 when they come out though (hopefully it's within the next couple of months).

Add me to the list. There is nothing wrong about Mini D2S's when OEM bulbs are used. They have more than good output.

A lot of people say they suck because they have no foreground limiter. Well, have you seen the BMW E9X HID projectors? They don't have any foreground limiter that I see of. Light starts right at the bumper. Same with B7, B8 Audis as well as some other Euro OEM HID projectors.

A lot of people that say the Mini D2S suck are those that have never used them.

what matters is that you are happy who cares what that the world thinks you can not please everyone.

I think it's fantastic how much everyone loves their choice of projectors! It shows how much passion there is for this hobby. It's neat when you consider most people just flick on their lights without giving them a second thought.

While using CBI's in the minis might be akin to driving a powerful car at slow speeds, I think it shows just how extendable TRS's products are. You have a choice of tiers:

Easy install kits with aftermarket bulbs (Minis's with Morimoto bulbs) -Most cost effective -$
Easy install kits with quality OEM bulbs -Balance of economy and quality -$$
OEM projectors with OEM bulbs -No compromise on quality or performance -$$$

With that, I think having the option to save a bit of money on the kit itself while still having powerful output is a great deal.

Nice! I see what they're saying about using those bulbs in those projectors. But rather, I see it a bit differently. I'm glad to see you using the best bulbs in those projectors. Most people go with the Morimoto projectors to save on cost, so yeah they don't use good bulbs. But if cost is not your limiting factor, then CBIs FTW!
