  • HID Headlight Strip Flashing

Hi folks. I've recently replaced the passenger side headlight on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (HID Xenon) that has the Daytime Running Light strip. The light was tested and worked fine before the install, but now the LED strip starts flashing after the lights are turned on for a couple of minutes. So unless you leave the light turned on for a few minutes, it doesn’t do it. I am handy enough to install the light but when it comes to electrical issues, I am at a loss. I did a little digging and it sounds like it's a voltage/current issue but I'm not sure. Has anyone else had anything similar happen and does it sound like something an anti-flicker adaptor would fix? TIA.

If it’s flashing that is a loose connection:

Thanks. I checked the connections (multiple times) and they seem to be tight and secure. Unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

is the flashing just random or is there a discernible pattern?

It's definitely a pattern. Probably should describe it more as a blinking than a flashing. It turns on and off with the timing of a turn signal.

I hate to say this but it sounds like they weren’t wired up correctly.
What happens when you turn on the turn signal?

It is very possible there is an issue with how they were wired. This was a DIY install and something may have been done incorrectly for sure.
I’ve uploaded a few short videos to show exactly what is happening. Hopefully they will shed some light on what could be wrong.
