If a bulb turns on for a few seconds (10-15), then starts to flicker and shut off completely, is that a ballast issue?

It was easy to spot today since it was dark, but my left passenger light would illuminate for a while (about 30 seconds max), then start to slowly flicker, and then fade out. I would have to turn the lights off and then back on, for the lights to come back on.

Ambient temperature is probably around 55 degrees F, and there has been no rain, as I'm in the bay area. Worst thing is probably the smoke from the fires.

Is this a ballast issue? Bulb does work.

Later on, the light did stay illuminated during my drive home, but kept failing initially.

I have not experienced this before.

Stuff like that is usually a bulb issue. Swap bulbs side to side and you'll find out.

Thank god the smoke is better today, I can finally do outdoor exercise! I think the fog took away much of the smoke south of SF.
