  • CR-V '13 HeadLight Retrofit

    Hey guys!

New to hidplanet and to headlight retrofit stuff.

Bought some stuff at TRS and tested.

    Projectors: FX-R 3.0 3Ē Lens/LHD [x2]
    Ballast: Morimoto XB55 (50W) [x2]
Ballast Igniters: Morimoto XB (D2S) [x2]
    Shrouds: Panamera [x2]
    Wire Harness: MotoControl B-Xenon: H4/9003
    Halos: 120mm White [x2]
    Sealant: OCI Butyl Rubber Glue

Everything seems to be in good working order. I donít know how the hotspot & cutoff should look like so I need assistance if I do need adjustments.

Apologize for iPhone pics. Projectors at approximately 18ft:

What do you guys think? Highly appreciate any advise.

Q: How do you deal with this situation?

I want to move the projector forward towards the front, but I'm starting to think there's no way around to getting the igniter to fit or is there an adapter?

Will the output performance decrease the further back it's set?

How easy was it to fit the FXRs? I have 2010 civic which has basically the same headlights and was wanting to do use FXRs as everyone seems to love them and they have a wide beam

It was pretty easy to fit TL in there, so no problem with FX-R for sure. The bucket is super huge.

Was any trimming of the shroud needed?

Thanks for the Link Genes1s! Nice retro as well. Q: did you reuse the same dust boot?

No, it was too small for TL. I used the ones TRS sells

I see. It seemed like there might be clearance problems for the driver side with TRS boots.

I haven't done any measurements yet but what size did you go with?

I've fit FXR 3" into civic headlight, the civic headlight are much much smaller than the CRV headlights even though they look the same( I work at a Honda dealer). the Civic headlights can fit but need some trimming in the reflector bowl(headlight), its tight but definitely possible.

It'll depend on what shroud you want to use I would guess - but my Iris shroud required trimming on the top and bottom to fit/clear the bezel.

Decided to tackle the retro this week. Yesterday I started by taking apart the bumper only to find that my flat head screw driver wasn't long enough to lift the clips behind the grill. Need 8 or more inches.

Please follow this vid for removal: http://youtu.be/RkSkNbKH7Rk

I apologize if the pics are too big. I'm not sure how to auto resize.

It's good to take pics of bolts, clips & screws to keep track of things.

Not mentioned, you'll need to do some protective taping with painters tape.

The hardest part of removing the bumper for me was the yellow clips.

If you have a skid plate, you'll need to remove it first to get to the middle clip.

                              Some helpful pics:

Second night and I'm ready to bake.
