  • Best mini H4 LED projector bulbs? (1.5 inch)

So I have a Smart Fortwo 453 which comes with standard halogen (ECE) reflector lamps as only option from factory.

To get a brighter and whiter light I installed some AliExpress LED bulbs for the low beam and high beam.

My current set are some HLXG bulbs with Luxeon ZES chips. Brightness and color temperature is good, however there is a bunch of scatter light above the cutoff due to the reflector design of my headlights.

In search of a LED bulb with a controlled beam pattern and good hotspot I came across a bunch of different mini projector lens bulbs from different brands. They are all from unknown brands and pretty similar in design. All seem to have CSP LEDs with no mentioning of the chip model or manufacturer. Some claim to have higher wattage, some to have more lumens. The only differences I could make out were the colors of the body and the alignment of the high beam LED chips.

Now I know my best option would be retrofitting some bigger LED or HID Projectors from known brands like Morimoto, but this would require me to open the headlights. As I live in Germany and my car gets checked for MOT/TÜV every two years, I need a non permanent Plug & Play solution.

I have attached links of some bulb sets I found below. Which set would you recommend and why?

    Best regards

You need to open the headlights to remove the glare cap with those things.

I only saw a YouTube video about these. They were not too great but better than expected.

I live in Germany too... I always exchanged my modded lights for a spare stock set when I had to go to the inspection.

Not generally. Removable from the back on many headlights.

My glare cap is fixed by two screws on the back of the headlight so no opening should be required.

              Maximum output, minimum lifespan: https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/p...vision-h4-twin

Otherwise, grab a Philips WhiteVision (not the Ultra one)

So I've read some reviews and the small diameter of the lenses seem to cause a very narrow beam pattern.
High power halogens have damaged my reflectors in the past.
Think I will stick around with SL1's.

I ve read good things about the Philips H4 bulbs but your output will still depend on the stock reflector.

I've had Osram Nightbreaker Laser bulbs in the past which ran so hot that they damaged the upper part of my reflectors.
Thanks for the recommendation but I will probably stay with LEDs.

Are they different to my bulbs?
I currently have HLXG bulbs from AliExpress with Philips Lumileds ZES chips.
