  • LED on cutoff shield of projector as DRL

Has anyone ever attached an LED to the outside of the cutoff shield of a projector? I have a pair of projector fogs I was thinking about doing this to for use as DRLs or perhaps just running lights at night, depending on how bright they turn out.

Any suggestions of what kind of LED light source I could use? I was thinking about those LED COB panels they make for dome lights but I don't know if they would be sensitive to the heat of the fogs when they are on.

Check out LED demon eyes, from Profile and Diode Dynamics. That's essentially what you're thinking of. However, they're not bright enough to use as a DRL.
