  • RLX headlights

So I was looking at the 2014 acura RLX jewel eye headlights and noticed that instead of having 10 lens like the MDX it has 20! Some source say they are brighter than xenon headlights.

It's crazy how many cars are getting these. And most of them are the Japanese cars. But every new Japanese model car has LEDs haha. It's like what point will they become better output wise than HIDs
    AAAAAAAAAAA

I wouldn't be surprised if the total amount of lumens from all those LEDs surpass the output from a HID projector with the benefit of better light distribution.

Well I guess Im the first person to actually disassemble a RLX headlight. The whole led assembly is actually pretty small and the high beam is seperate from the low beam. Both use seperate ballast. The high beam uses two led's mounted in two reflectors. The leds in the high beam are different from the led's in the lowbeam but dont ask me what kind as im a complete noob on led's. Thought the TL bixenon projectors had a crazy bright high beam? You have not seen anything until you see these! I remember TRS described the MDX's led high beam as a "cannon of light" and that perfectly describes these. Extremely intense. Lowbeam is appear to be equal to a modded rx330 except the hotspot is more intense. Anyway enough talk. Pics follow

Problem I am having now is the ballast pigtails appear to be part of the cars wiring harness. Right now I have no way of powering these on without sticking little tiny wires up in the ballast and trying to touch the tiny terminals up in there. If anyone has any suggestion on how else I can power these on I would appreciate it.

Coming soon! Cant hardly take a shot, hold the lights, and the two wires on the ballast all at the same time! Got to find a way to hold them.

And believe me I got these a few minutes after the guy listed them on ebay. Supppper good deal!

Ive never had the mdx's so I cant compare these to them. From the pics Ive seen though these look smaller.
