  • Official: Morimoto Mini H1 7.0

At TRS, we still care about spanking your brand new Benz at night with even higher performance headlights from Morimoto.

That's why we've spent quite some time developing the latest and greatest. The Morimoto Mini H1 7.0 Bi-xenon Projector

This is like Honda giving the Civic a full overhaul. BMW replacing their bread and butter 3 series. Coca Cola revising the formula to their original soft drink. If we don't get this right, we're screwed!

    Whats new:
    - Longer threaded shaft compared to 6.0
    - All-new die cast curved bi-xenon cutoff shield
    - All-new (for the first time ever on a Mini H1) side-pull solenoid
    - All new (for the first time ever on a Mini H1) metal lens holder with see-through "7" icon
    - Unique optics compared to all previous generation MH1 projectors

    What hasn't changed:
    - Still compatible with existing Mini Gatling shrouds
    - Still uses the same overall bulb/mounting hardware setup
    - Overall dimensions basically the same
    - Standard equipped with optically clear lenses

Given their current prototyping status, we expect release in December or January. Pricing is still to be determined as well.

    Cheerio!

Comparing the shields on two of the latest prototypes. Notice the added curvature and officially rusted prototype solenoids!

That curve though, no wonder they're wider than S2000 projectors!

And that lens holder, oooo wee!

From another thread (already posted) but here it is again. Output.

Looking forward for some side-by-side comparison with the Mini H1 6.0 & Mini D2S 3.0.

It's as dialed in as it needs to be. I think the next "real" step is LED-based.

Will there ever be a MD2S 4.0? I would still like to use OEM D2S bulbs.

As of right now there's no need, the 3.0 is fantastic.

Looks great, very sturdy! Looking forward to more photos.
Is it riveted together like the D2S or can we disassemble it?

I might have to tear my 6.0s out and get these! Is the lens holder still plastic? Crossing my fingers it isn't.

So no point in adding the curved shield to it?

How much longer is the threaded shaft? Right now I have it mounted to the odyssey and I don't like the fact that it's being held by only 3 small screws and not by the lock nut. I tried to do as little work as possible and this was the only to mount the projector into the headlight housing. If these 7.0 projectors were long enough to screw the nut, I may be interested.
