I'm with ya, the color temp difference to my Philips 85122+ bulbs is super obvious, even with the XB 5500K I had before (with both F3 and F5 ballasts).
I've got my XB Type S fogs cut open, to swap the stock Luxeon T 6500K emitters for Luxeon TX 5000K, and boosting the driver from 900mA to 1A or maybe 1.2A output. The Luxeon TX comes in a bunch of color temps, including 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, 5000K, 5700K, and 6500K.
The LED board is easy enough to reflow the emitters, and the Luxeon TX has a boost in lumens over the stock Luxeon T.
