  • Morimoto XB LED fog light request for Mazda.

I believe TRS have seen a few of our requests on Facebook concerning a Morimoto XB LED plug and play unit for our applications. I was very thankful to read that TRS will be considering the idea after numerous requests. I'll clarify and repeat again for the forum instead of on social media.

The Mazda H11 fog light housing is the same exact part number and dimension that dates back to 2002 with the Mazda6 (iirc). The same fog light is used on literally all their cars since. Early 2000's models include Mazda6, Mazda3, MPV, RX-8, Miata, Mazda5, CX-7, CX-9, Etc etc. You get the point... Most importantly, Mazda is still using the same housings on their redesigned vehicles like the new Mazda CX-5, Mazda3, Mazda6, etc. The same housing is carrying over to newly refreshed 2016 models. What that means is Mazda will continue to make new cars with the same housing for years to come.

This is a win-win-win for TRS, Morimoto, and fellow Mazda consumers. I hope TRS and Morimoto can take heavy consideration into adapting an XB LED fog to the Mazda application.

That's a pretty good spread of vehicles for 1 housing.

I understand Mazda has been using the same housing since 2002 and is still using it on current vehicles.

TRS will probably hop on that band wagon. I'm sure of it.

Hopefully they will... Was hoping for a Mazda version since the release of the first batch of the XB LED and mentioned it in a thread that the fog light was usable in many Mazda.

My mom's 2010 3 housing is like this

I'm not sure the Xb would be able to fit in that package size? There is considerable room behind the driver side but the passenger side is more limited due to the location of some vital parts directly behind it. There's some room but not as much.

If they make these sign me up for a pair for my mothers car, it's EXACTLY what she needs.

I think all Mazda3's shared the same H11 housings with the exception of the 2009 and 2010 models (mix batch of sedan/hatch). However the Mazdaspeed 3 uses the round housings. Mazda had a short period where it threw the parallelogram shape fogs on a few packages.

Ah so these would not work out for my mothers 2010 3?

Just buy the Speed3 bumper vent inserts and use those to mount the XB's too

It's not my car, that will never happen. I'd have better luck with a universal version of the Xb fog and custom mounting.

We are indeed considering this, and appreciate the recommendation. We have another 2 models already in the works for the new F150 trucks and all GM/H16 equipped vehicles.

To further motivate us, maybe you could post an interest "feeler" thread on one of the Mazda boards to see what the response is like?

Thank you Matt. I have made a few threads on www.mazdas247.com and one on www.rx8club.com . To be specific, these units would go in my 2013 CX-5 and 2004 RX-8.
