  • Morimoto XC RGB Multi colored halos.

I didn't see a thread on these so i figured i would start one.

    Whole kit...

    Expansion kit:

I'm not very educated about them, other than the fact that i want them and they change colors. lol

How does the remote work? Do i actually have a remote control like my TV?

I want to run 4 halos(2 pairs) and want to understand how they work. The full kit comes with a voltage regulator(dual output) and a RGB controller(triple output) What plugs to what? What connect to what?

And...where do i get power from, i just need one power source? Can i just straight tap the battery(and then use the controller) or would i tap whatever i wanted to use to light them up...Just like a regular halo.

Also would the controller be replaced with a wireless controller?

Woah! Those were not there the other day when I was trawling the store. Wish there were some hardwired color inputs that I could trigger without the remote (i.e. turn signal sequences, etc.)

It's an RF remote, so no it's not like the IR remote your TV has. It works more like your car's keyless entry.

            From the packaging directly:

One source per controller as shown above.

            It already is wireless, actually.

Are there any plans of making matching RGB LED strips?

I'm going to need you guys (TRS) to stop making more products. How am I ever supposed to move onto other mods if you keep making me want to open my headlights?

What i meant when i asked if there as a remote like a TV was meaning i physically have something that is used to change the colors? Like a TV remote to change the channels.

And so i can run 6 halos off one controller?

So if i wanted 6 halos i would buy 1 Main kit and 2 small ones?

To clarify, i was wondering if the RF remote could be replaced by the "Magic Color LED" app in which we can customize the lights greater than the features on the stock RF remote. I have the app which I was going to link it to a WIFI controller, which then could be controlled by the app. Will these allow me to do the same? Possibly sync the lights to music through my phone?

what is the max current the receiver box can source? common anode or cathode?
The time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted time

I am going to say no to all the above with the stock controller. Most apps I have seen run through bluetooth of Wifi and I see no way to easily interface those to the controller. However, it appears that it is a 3 channel LED driver so therefore you could run a different control box that was setup to do phone interfacing and just wire it to the corresponding wires for red, green, and blue. I would be almost certain this would void the warranty however.
