    LS430 Projectors without the reflector

I am in a dilema. I got a great deal on a pair of 05 LS430 headlights. Comes with bulbs and ballast. Did'nt realize they were so big. Now I've been reading about the projectors having a reflector bowl and all. MY question is, can I cut the bowls off and still be able to get decent output?

These will be going in a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant.

I will be starting my retro this weekend, so any help is appreciated.

you just wouldn't get as wide a beam without those reflectors.

Ok, cool. I was doing some measuring and my headlight is about 4 1/2 in and the projector is about 5 in. I willl have do some hacking, but I wont be cutting off the reflector.

Do your best of trying to fit the whole projector, you should be able to trim the reflector part a little. Those are one of the best projectors out there, specially when light 5 lanes, the widest output. If you can't fit them I would just buy diferent projectors S2000 or TSX. Good luck.

If I was going to do anything to the reflector I would only trim off a little from the bottom, but not completely remove it.

I suggest, to save your money, you don't alter the projector in any way. The LS430 projector works as a hole unit, if you cut/trim any part of it you will not get the bright/wide output which most people who buy this projector are looking for. So you can save little money if you sell it and buy another one such S2k or TSX.

You can’t trim or modify the LS430 projector shroud bowl bottom or you’ll lose the output that makes the LS430 unique. If you do, you’ll just have an expensive S2000 projector. You’ll also need roughly a 7 inch diameter to fit the entire LS430 shroud. It’s a perfect fit in my 2005 F150.
