Philips do make the Ultinon bulbs, but from what I do understand the genuine ones are fairly $$$ and not worth it.

No OEM bulb company has ever made rebase bulbs for halogen bases.

6000k sucks anyways, with a real Ultinon you'll get 2400 lumens, if you want white go CBIs and you'll get 3200+ lumens.

ultinon is the name of philips aftermarket color bulbs, almost exclusively for the JDM market (3000k, 5800k, 6700k, etc). basically bulbs that are illegal in most areas of the world. 99% of these being sold on ebay are fakes. also i think the ultinon only came is d2s size (again for japanese cars). unless you find some for around $300-400 a pair, they are fakes. and all of the real ultinons are much dimmer than stock. Catz is also a very good oem quality bulb maker and has a wide variety of colors but they are expensive and hard to find.

this one is real... and pretty good price too. if you read the whole auction, there are some VERY good tips to determine real from fake.

I'll never understand how or why people will call spot welds rivits ????
D1S is where its at, Radically better EMI and RFI performance. Only the new Japanese cars still use D2 bulbs, the others have all changed to D1S.

They seemed pretty legit to me and I trusted that gearbox is very knowledgeable on these products, so I will order a set from them and report back
