will a D4S fit in a D2S E55
i have a set of E55 projectors and ive run into an issue i would like to find out if a D4S will fit into my D2S E55s (i dont have a D4S to try) ive seen D4S bulbs before but ive never really checked them next to a D2S does anyone know

I believe just the notching is different, but you can probably cut your own notching, also you have to use a d4s ballast too.
Headlight retrofit (low beams):
RX330 Projectors with blue painted stock shields (Limiter removed)
TSX-R Clear lenses
Matsushita Gen V Ballasts
Osram 66240CBI D2S (5000K) Bulbs
High beams: Mtec super white (4350k) bulbs
Blackout housings with stock chrome rings
Morimoto relay harness
I'm currently working on a retrofit with an 08 lexus es350 projectors and they take D4S bulbs, but all i had to work with to do my aiming was a D2S bulbs and they fit right in. Hope this helps
i do know about the D4 series balast requirement as for the ES350 projectors did you have to do any notching on the D2S bulb to fit it? i know that a D4S notch is at the 9:00 position when looking at the bulb from the base and the D2S had the notch at i beleave the 2:00 position (the positioning is im guessing) does the D4S have a notch in the same spot as a D2S as well i really dont remember if they do or not i havent seen a D4S in a while
Yeah D2S has the square notch at the top, and at about 2 o'clock there's that circle notch. The D4S has the same square notch on top but has the circle notch at 90 degrees to the right (3 o'clock).
ohh damn, it's on the other side. It's been a while since I've seen one.
I gotta get some D4S's to play with, see what this is all about. Maybe by then I'll remember which side the notches are on haha.
ok thanks all the D4s bulbs wont fit a D2S projector with out a little modding looks like the E55s i got are getting the little key notch shaved off so all is left is the directional notch (the square notch)
