Best/brightest LED bulbs for reverse lights?

What would be the best LED reverse light bulbs I can use in this type of reflector housing?:

I'm not looking to retro some LEDs in there and blind people when backing up lol, I just want a good 3156 size LED bulb that will provide more light than my stockers. Thanks in advance!

prolly something like this, cause it has a hi power 3w led. i wouldnt worry about them burning out cause usually it doesnt take too long to back up.

I used these V-LED's #921 (reverse bulbs) HID White 14 Mini-SMT 5 Watt High Power bulbs
    http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...d/0/SFV/32481#

They have them in 7 watt for 3147 & 1157 as well.

Here they are on my ride but these pics don't do them any justice, they are simply blinding. They are prett pricey though.

I might just have to pick up a set of the 7w versions for mine.

Haha... you're telling me. I saw a 3w luxeon & an led driver on ebay the other day for like $8.00. I'm sure it would be similar in output for a lot less. I'm still not comfortable wiring up some custom tails yet (but I'm sure learning alot). When I do I figure I'll sell them & make some money back.

Thanks for the report/pics but those pics are not all that great without a single shot direct comparison of an old bulb one one side and new bulb on the other side.

I'm not saying they aren't better but any camera will make a bright light on as dark night look fantastic.

We will also like to know how the longevity works out. Many people here never report back how they work after 6-12 months and short life or flickering is often the worst problem with PNP LED bulbs.

I have no problem doing that, I've done lots of comparison threads & How To's. I just hope I've moved on to something much better by then.

For the time being, I'll keep reading, researching, & learning from all the LED Jedi's.

I wonder how they compare to my recently bought 11W red LEDs off ebay for about $24/pair. Here's a comparison to regular 7443 brake incandescent on the left. LED on the right.

Here's what they look like, 11 1 Watt emitters:

These do seem to be the latest technology, coming close to incandescent but not quite there yet. I'm debating to whether I want to keep them or not.
