10000 LUX Full Spectrum LED Light Box - Possible to Make?

Hey guys, I know thhis might not be the right forum for this kind of thing but I'll ask anyway.

How hard would it be and where can I get a drawing to make a light box that is capable of producing a Full Spectrum of Light at 10,000 LUX.

I'd like to use simple LEDs to do it and don't know if it's possible or where to start. What kind of power supply would I need and that sort of thing. I can buy a light like this but not for less than $200.

It would be used for a Light Therapy commonly used to fight symtoms of SAD or Seasonal Affected Disorder. Let me know if anyone knows anything to help me out.

    Thanks

This seems like an arbitrary number, why so high illuminance? Also is this uniform on both vertical and horizontal planes? What size box?

Doctors say 10,000 lux is considered the minimum requirement to combat symptoms of SAD. It's call Light Therapy. Companies make boxes around 12"x12" maximum to 6"x6" minimum. I don't know about the plane aspect. Why? Is full spectrum light different depending on the focus of the light or.....?

so basically you need some high power RGB LEDs and a micro controller with 3 PWM outputs to control the R, G, and B?

or build your light box out of mirrored plexi and get the 200W daylight bulbs from menards.. or several of the 100 W daylight compact flourecents.. they make my day bright....

I'm pretty sure ceramic metal halide HID bulbs produce the closest spectrum to the sun out of anything.

fluoro CFL bulbs don't even come close to comparing to the spectrum of CMH bulb..

If you're trying to mimic the sun, you want CMH.

Spectral Power Distribution of Sunlight (Includes ultraviolet and infrared spectrum):

This is what you want to mimic.

EDIT: May I suggest... the place where I work is one of the leading research institutes on lighting in the world. We do a lot of work with light and health which includes SAD and other problems associated with daylight. If you want to learn more, visit this website and do some reading about our work:
